Accommodation Review
This pretty bungalow is extremely comfortably furnished. The living room has an attractive vaulted ceiling, providing a feeling of airiness and spaciousness. It is open plan with a lounge/dining area which seats four on comfortable leather sofas and a fully fitted, modern kitchen. There are two attractive bedrooms with fitted wardrobes. One has a king sized, the other has twin beds and they share a shower room with a walk-in Canarian style shower. At the front of the bungalow there is a terrace overlooking the sea, a glorious place to enjoy a glass of wine, whilst soaking in the sights and sounds of the glistening ocean. At the rear of the property there is a delightful, completely private and walled patio garden with sun loungers and Bar B Q; ideal for soaking up the sun in total privacy.
This unique property is located in the traditional Canarian village of Punta Mujeres on the eastern coast of Lanzarote. The village is inhabited by very friendly locals, a number of which make their living from fishing the surrounding waters. The village inhabitants have go together to make the very best of their coastline. Natural and protected rock pools have been created along the sea front, perfect for a dip in the clear waters for local families and visitors. For beach enthusiasts, the nearby village of Arrieta is within walking distance and has a superb golden, sand beach, a trendy and inexpensive beach bar, a restaurant and a children's play area. The choice of restaurants and bars is superb in these villages, some serving the best fresh fish on the island and most have fantastic sea views. All are within walking distance of the Casita, or for families with small children, a short drive.
The area is very charming and peaceful, except on local Fiestas, when the villages come to life with noise and colour! It is a few minutes’ drive to two of the islands most famous landmarks, both designed by Cesar Manrique. Jameos del Agua and the Cuevos Verde (Green Caves)
A fifteen minute drive along the coast, past glistening white, empty beaches takes you to the northern tip of the island and the small village of Orzola. From here ferries run hourly to the enchanting, unspoilt island of Graciosa where one can while away a day on stunning beaches and eat delicious seafood. There are only a handful of cars on the island, most of which are taxi-jeeps transporting visitors to glorious, hidden beaches and the roads are covered with sand. A day here is like going back in time and is well worth it.
