After hearing many glowing reports we decided to head off to Haria this morning to see the latest Manrique addition to the Island; this is where the great man lived and I quite understand why he is is so loved and revered.

Nestled in ‘the land of 1000 palms’  his house is a delight. It is set as if he were still living there and the whole place is steeped in the history of his life and work ( note his slippers by the bed) The bathroom..well..it did not offer much privacy but who cares! I was not allowed to take photos inside ( whoops sorry about the bedroom) but there is lots to see.

Its 10€ to go in 15€ for a double ticket to see this and the Foundation in Tahiche; both are well worth visiting.

This morning the place was buzzing there is a local artisan market and lots of places to have a coffee or a tapas lunch. I would suggest at least half a day trip you could fit in the caves pm and make a day of it ‘Up North” If you are lucky enough to be in our casita or Tres Palmeras Haria is on your doorstep.

Do give it serious consideration it really is lovely.
