After a great 28 days away I am back on the Rock everything has been taken care of in my absence. I am delighted to let you know that the day to day running of LVD has been passed over to Amanda and Kate. Of course if you wish to contact me no problem but you will see that Mands phone number and E mail adress has now replaced mine on the website. I know they will continue to look after you and I wish them every success in this new venture
A few years ago the Cabildo de Lanzarote released details of 10 walks around the island creating signposted footpaths. The new routes “Red de Senderos Turísticos y Recreativos de Lanzarote” will total a distance of 147 km and are spread out around Lanzarote.
The individual footpaths are less than 50km in length so that it is possible to walk each one of them within a day. The routes will take walkers through diverse areas of Lanzarote allowing them to see the different landscapes, experience the local culture and enjoy the gastronomy of the island.
The routes created according to the guidelines set out by the Federación Europea de Montañismo with little disruption to the environment and through designated public land. At the start and end of each footpath will be an information board with details on flora, fauna and places of interest to watch out for during that walk as well as the distance, level of difficulty and height covered on the route.
The network of paths cover 25,817m tarmac, 77,976m off road tracks and 43,016 footpaths totalling a distance of 146,808m. Below are images outlining the designated routes:
PR-LZ-01 Arrieta to Caleta de Famara

I have before recommended the book Walk Lanzarote By David and Ros Brawn. Obtainable from Amazon this guide is a great way to get to know the island. Many of my clients staying in the casita and villas in Nazaret have purchased this and the map and have really found them valuable. Its a great way to see the REAL Lanzarote
